After announcing this Shep turned to neocon warmonger Frank Gaffney, who assured us that this is the wise and moral thing to do -- to put a few American troops in the middle of a civil war.
"Isn't this how world wars get started -- putting American troops in the middle of a conflict like this where anything can happen?" asked Shep. At that point I couldn't stomach it any longer. I don't know how Gaffney answered the question, but it's a good bet that what he was thinking was, "Why yes . . . . . as a matter of fact it is . . . he he he he he.
