The Anglican State Church

There is much to love about the Anglican Church, but one can never lose sight of its origin. The English State seized the Catholic Church in that country and made it subservient. For example, Tony Blair appointed the present Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams. There have been many arguments made against him, but now his critics in Africa especially are making a libertarian one: that while the Pope is chosen by his pivate peers, the Anglican leader is chosen by the State.
