Pat adds so much intelligence and wit to MSNBC's Morning Joe. It lifts the heart to see him at the table. Today, Richard Cohen was on praising the "candor" of Charlie Black, aide to McCain, for saying that another terrorist attack would be a great thing for the McCain campaign. Pat then asked Cohen if his praise of candor and saying what one thinks extended to Imus. How funny to watch Cohen sputter and say, Of course not!
(I found the Black comment horrific. Clearly there is a Baptist-bootlegger alliance between neocons and terrorists, and in this case for electing the most belligerent candidate. Was this a message to Osama and company?)
Tom Friedman was also on, with the usual anti-human, neocon hobbyhorse of raising oil prices even more through higher gasoline taxes and "carbon" taxes. (Life taxes, as Sean Corrigan notes.) Pat unfortunately agreed, and advocated massive tariffs on foreign oil, which Friedman was happy to endorse as well.
Further wealth destruction through more taxation: neocons want it to empower the US state and hurt Arabs. Pat wants protectionisn always and everywhere. The Friedman-Buchanan alliance for even more statism. It's sort of Churchillian.
