It’s possible that even here, libertarian principle would better serve the Bob Barr campaign than this nebulous conservatism. My friend’s very conservative mother, not a libertarian at all, is sick of McCain, and was interested in voting LP this year. But she says the nomination of Barr strikes her as opportunistic and not rooted in the radical principle she always expected from Libertarians. So, although she might have pulled the lever for an anarchist to send a message, she concludes this time it would not send any such message. She will stay home this year.
