Charles Krblich II writes regarding LP VP on RP: “I was a witness to the ‘Debate’ when Ron Paul spoke of Blowback and Rudy Guliani responded with his insane remark. My initial (emotional) reaction was to side with Rudy, but my second (rational) reaction was to say, ‘Wait a second, what that guy (Ron Paul) whom I’ve never heard of before, actually made a little sense.’ So I thought, ‘I don’t like any of these guys on stage, but so far Ron Paul has said something at least to intrigue me.’ So I went You-Tubing and Googling, and I watched Ron Paul speak, and I read some Ron Paul congressional speeches, and after searching for eons for ANY REASON to dismiss Ron Paul outright, I came to the conclusion that this man (Ron Paul) is not only correct on the issue of blowback, but that he is also correct on all of the other issues that he speaks of. My college major was economics, and even though my professors were quite good at explaining the fallacies of Keynesian economics, my eyes had never been opened to the idea that issues like war, foreign policy, Healthcare, education, abortion, drugs, etc , and most importantly banking were subject to the same analysis. Before that singular instance on the ‘Debate’ stage, I had always believed that each of these issues could be solved individually via (specifically Republican) legislation. After that instance I realize that the state is no solution and that these issues can only be solved by free individuals in non-centralized localities. I’ve tried to explain my transition, but I’m not sure that any words can describe my, ‘Wait a second…’ moment in that debate.
