Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE), whose chances of being Obama’s VP pick increase every day (I put it at about 20 – 25% at this point), recently suggested that if Bush attacked Iran w/o Congressional approval he could/should be impeached.
Speaking of a bipartisan ticket, picking Hagel would probably add 2 – 3 points to the ticket across the country, would give Obama at least 2 of NE’s electoral votes, shore up support in Iowa, and maybe give a small bump in Missouri — that’s why I see the pick as more and more likely (along with pro-Obama and anti-McCain comments coming out of Hagel). Now, Hagel is no Ron Paul (by a longshot), but the image of the prominent anti-war republican will be huge for the advancement of the rEVOLution in general and Ron Paul Republicans running for offices across the country.
