Some Ron Paul people, understandably upset by their treatment, plan to make trouble at that convocation of burglars and fences known as the Republican convention. I can't see the point myself, but I don't put much faith in standard politics. But whatever they do, I hope they do not give the SWAT teams an excuse to brutalize them. Like the 2004 convention, with its far-away, barbed-wire "free speech zone" for protesters, this one will be GWOT on parade. The state--and this is one of the state's two annointed parties--loves to intimidate and punish. Anybody saying the rulers nay risks being tasered and gassed, beaten and jailed, demonized and prosecuted. Folks, that whole bunch in Minneapolis is not worth one Ron Paulian fingernail, let alone a busted skull. Watch the sickening festival on TV, unless you are a delegate or alternate. Even then, you have to be careful. Your enemies are fascists.
UPDATE from Nydra: "I think I heard Ron Paul say he was renting space for his supporters to hold a rally. I have a friend in Minneapolis and she is expecting me for a few days. Before we tell people not to go, let's see what Ron Paul has lined up for us. I agree on not setting ourselves up. I also read that you can be a vendor. Maybe we need to reserve a few booths inside for selling Ron Paul paraphernalia, his book, and Mises memberships!"
Nydra, one of the great things about Ron Paul is that he is a man of peace in personal as well as policy terms. You can always follow his lead with confidence. As to the rest, "anything that's peaceful," as Leonard Read said.
