Of course. Ruby Ridge happened under Bush I, as did the first planning of Waco. And then the Republican John Danforth gave the bipartisan blessing to the whitewashing and cover-up. Don’t forget the police-state response to Katrina, to say nothing of the whole war on terror (including the daily equivalent of Waco in Iraq) – and war on drugs. And now that the El Dorado horror is unfolding, what do the partisan talking heads like Sean Hannity have to say about it? Not much, so far as I can tell. They’re too busy discussing Obama’s guilt by association to people in the Weather Underground, and other meaningless pap.

I wanted to make something clear to those reading my article that I do not blame liberals alone for the police state. Although I think the article was clear enough in bashing the right, too. (And no one who’s read two or three of my LRC columns, picked at random, should think I’m a Republican apologist. Google vindicates me on this one.)
