Too Bad Obama Might Be President

Because I kind of like him, at least when he's being attacked. I do agree with Mark Brady, who would "have more respect for Obama if he would defend the Reverend Wright, his decision not to wear a flag lapel, and his connections with a one-time member of the Weather Underground." But still, after seeing 45 minutes of Obama's patriotism under constant cross examination, I can't help but root for him, if just a little. I especially admire his willingness to condemn guilt-by-association as an acceptable substitute for actual argument. As he points out, his associates range from leftwing fringies to rightwing fringies – as do those of most of us who run in interesting political circles at all – and the idea that he should be held accountable for what others have done or said is absurd.

I'd root louder if there were no chance he'd become our greatest enemy, of course.
