Rabid Sports Fans Maniacs

I love sports and always have, since childhood. But I have come to realize that people who obsess on sports are hopeless fools. This is one of those things that makes you realize that people can be disgracefully pathetic. I kept hearing this on CNN radio all day yesterday, over and over: Jinxed Red Sox jersey excavated from the New York Yankee stadium construction site. A subcontractor buried a David Ortiz jersey, and "after an anonymous tip verified the existence and location of the jersey Saturday, workers from Turner Construction Co. drilled for five hours and then 30 minutes more yesterday to complete the excavation." The Yankees organization is talking to the district attorney to explore the criminality of the act.

It was a shirt. A piece of cloth with a logo. A cloth worn by someone who hits a ball with a bat...for another team. People, and rabid fans, were so outraged that such a "horrific" thing could take place at a glorious shrine such as the new Yankee stadium. The project manager of the construction crew that dug it out said, ""I don't think we're heroes but we're just glad to get it out of here." Umm, no dude, you are not heroes. You are a bunch of fools who need to get a life with some substance.

Listening to the "fans" being interviewed about this - along with their screaming and outrage and "GO YANKEES" chants - was painful. They have nothing going on in their boring, little lives except the Yankees. I've always been an admitted Yankee non-hater, but now I've changed my mind. If only these losers cared half as much about events that are destroying their currency, tanking the economy, producing endless wars, and ultimately, denying their ability to live their lives free from state oppression. But they could care less, as long as their paycheck keeps arriving and it pays for the plasma screen, the 6 pack, and sports tickets.
