Nanny-State USA

While in Wal-Mart tonight I picked up a can of WD-40 along with a few other things. Since there was no line, I tried to quickly pay for my stuff in the self-checkout lane. What a mistake. The checkout machine stopped when I scanned the can of WD-40. I had to wait until a cashier came over to verify that I was 18 or over and therefore able to purchase the WD-40. I can’t imagine this happening in China or Russia or in any other free country.
