South Carolina Republican Party officials confirmed today that Ron Paul will participate in the next debate to be broadcast by Fox News this Thursday.

The rules for this debate were that candidates had to poll 5% in New Hampshire or be polling 5% nationally. Paul, Giuliani, Huckabee, McCain, and Romney were the top 5 in New Hampshire. Fred Thompson qualifies because he is still polling over 5% nationally.

Ron Paul was excluded from last Sunday’s GOP debate, resulting in massive protests and the eventual withdrawal of the New Hampshire GOP as co-sponsor.
