Rockwell versus the Blimp

RonPaulForums.com has been calling on Paul supporters to donate to LRC.

A debate has arisen over the merits of Lew versus the Blimp.

"The blimp ain't got nothing on Lew Rockwell. Lew is one of the biggest, baddest freedom fighters around. The blimp is, well. A shtick."

I won't go so far as to say the blimp is a shtick, but let's remember the power of ideas. Without Murray Rothbard, Ludwig von Mises, and Lew Rockwell, there is no Ron Paul, no Austrian School, and no libertarian movement (certainly no blimp!). Without the Mises Institute and LRC, Ron Paul is just another politician, devoid of any principle and intelligence.

Thankfully this is not the case. Ron Paul is great, but let's not forget he is standing on the shoulders of giants.

The blimp is a consequence of the promotion of freedom. This is not about Paul or his blimp, this is about ideas. And as far as I'm concerned, LRC and the Mises Institute are the foremost defenders of the principles of liberty. They will give birth to more Ron Pauls; more politicians, lawyers, philosophers, economists, and professors who are unwavering in their support of free markets, private property, and peace.

In other words, I'll side with Lew.
