‘The Audacity of Nope’

Ron Paul, unlike other candidates, does not promise that he and the messianic can solve all problems. Nor are his donors promised ambassadorships to Togo or contracts from the military-industrial-security complex. They are promised government doing far less, and therefore far more freedom to lead their own lives. See this neat article from Jim Antle, with one of the great headlines of this political season, and thanks to Brad Funkhauser.

UPDATE Despite what a commenter on the Antle piece says, Ron Paul did not add pork to spending bills. He requested that if the bill were passed over his objections, that the money be consitutionally allocated by the legislature rather than the unitary executive, and that his district not be discriminated against. As a representative, he also got constituents food stamps, though he voted against that program too. (Thanks to David Kuehn.)
