The Post Office Continues To Be A Good Example Of Government Non-Serviceness

I barely made it to the post office today. It was 11:59. Soon after the doors closed. People outside, many carrying boxes with Christmas wrapping, were told to leave and come back Monday. Here we have clear demand for a service, yet post office remains closed during peak season. Now, I do not know if the market players have better evening and weekend hours. Still, one can only wonder how much better mailing services would be if the post office were privatized and first class delivery de-monopolized.
