The US Capitol Hill police force are the worst police force in the nation (I could tell a hundred stories -- wait for the book). Their job is to protect the state, and in the absence of any real crime on Capitol Hill they turn their thuggishness against normal taxpaying citizens and Capitol Hill employees. We all remember what they did to Rep. Cynthia McKinney when she dared pass by their metal detectors as an elected Member of Congress without bowing to their unconstitutional demands that she "HALT!"
Your own humble and extremely sensitive correspondent was very recently threatened with arrest and physical violence ("I will get a whole squad out here to take care of you") when he dared to cross the street against the light (!!!). The charge, ironically, was not "jaywalking" but rather "disrespecting an officer of the law." Any lawyers out there? Is this really a crime?
Well here is yet another chapter in the rotund, doughnut-and-flatulent-filled, MP5-carrying lives of the brave little tin soldiers of the empire: an arrest of a well-known minister attempting to attend the farcical "Petraeus hearing" (he was charged with assaulting an officer -- do you see any assault other than by the officers in this video?):
