How Many Bullets Does It Take to Kill One “Insurgent”?

At least 250,000, according to this report in the U.K. Independent, which says that the U.S. has fired so many bullets in the War on Terra that U.S. manufacturers can’t keep up with the demand, leading to importation of bullets from Israel.

Now where do you suppose the other 249,999 bullets went? Some went for training, for sure, but it’s not hard to see how the civilian death toll in Iraq could easily hit 600,000 with such a trigger-happy military occupying the country. Then again, as with every other government program, it’s not their money going to buy the ammo, so why should they bite the bullet and conserve?
