If cannibalism ever becomes legalized in this country, you can be assured that the bill authorizing the practice will have the name "Kennedy" attached to it. I can imagine a member of this brood appearing on television to urge its passage as "a concrete way of serving our fellow man."
There is something puzzling about a family that seems to instinctively embrace any measure that will increase the powers of the state over the lives of everyone else. Perhaps a DNA investigation will reveal the Kennedys having a recessive gene causing the reptilian portion of their brain stem to dominate the rest of the brain.
Now we have Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., telling the world that people who are "skeptics" about global warming are engaged in "treason," and that "we" (the politically collective "we" of whom the Kennedys know no other) should "start treating them as traitors." In medieval times, those who were "skeptical" about church doctrine and were willing to consider alternative explanations for natural events, were regarded as "heretics" and subjected to the severest forms of punishment. In a secular age, "heresy" has given way to "treason" as a way of ridding society of the insidious dangers of any form of thought that did not conform to the established mandate. "You think the earth is not the center of the universe? You don't believe in Al Gore's film? To the gallows with you!"
