Acting President

Lew: Fred Thompson would be a perfect candidate, from the perspective of the political establishment. He is, after all, a professional actor, and would be quite adept at learning the lines others have scripted for him. It worked in the case of Ronald Reagan, didn't it? And what about our present California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, another professional actor able to respond to his cues and follow the script? Then there was that former motion picture star/U.S. senator from California, George Murphy who, in the words of Tom Lehrer, was able to give Americans a "real song and dance!"

Politics is about nothing more than imagery, right? And who better to project the system's desired images than people who have enjoyed successful careers entertaining millions of the boobeoisie by pretending to be someone else?
