Re: Kurt Vonnegut

I feel the same loss as Anthony regarding the death of Kurt Vonnegut. One of my favorite VCR tapes is of a two hour interview conducted a number of years ago on C-SPAN (as I recall) with Vonnegut and Joseph Heller. They were discussing how their wartime experiences influenced their later writings. Toward the end of the interview, Vonnegut told of a conversation he had with a friend, aboard a troop ship heading home. Vonnegut asked the man "what did you learn from all of this?" His friend's response seemed to sum up Vonnegut's as well: "never to believe anything your government tells you."
