And now for something REALLY important!

In this political silly season, I have found what perhaps is the best of all quasi-political websites: the one dedicated to "stopping" Health Shuler's run for Congress. Yes, even though Shuler was a quarterback for my beloved Tennessee Vols, he went on to the NFL to become one of the biggest busts in league history, although Tony Mandarich and Ryan Leaf also share a place in ignominity.

You see, these Redskins fans understand that there is something much more important than politics: football! Heath Shuler was a hurricane that blew through the 'Skins, and they sure as heck don't want him back in Washington.

Granted, people argue that in matters of war and peace, football is unimportant in the Great Schemes of Life. Au contraire. Give me football over the political classes any day of the week. Football coaches do not start wars, and many of them are wonderfully politically incorrect.

Now, I could care less who wins that congressional race in North Carolina involving Shuler and a Republican incumbent, but it is wonderful that football fans in the DC area have their priorities straight. Visit the site, and I can assure you that you will thoroughly enjoy it.
