V for Vendetta, the film that blurs the line between terrorists and freedom fighters opens tonight. It's not exactly a seismic event in the history of film and Western culture, but I am interested to see the public reaction to this film that, as far as I can tell, seems to cast on approving eye on the use of what governments clearly define as "terrorist methods," as an acceptable form of resistance. I haven't seen the film, so I can't be sure just how ambiguous or or explicit this message actually is.
Here is Roger Ebert's review which is kind, and the review from John Hartl at MSNBC which is kind as well.
Joel Seigel didn't much care for it, deeming the film "V for Vacuous."
