Beatle’s Songs — the bad and the worse

Posted by Gil Guillory on March 16, 2006 02:09 PM | Post a civil, substantive, and intelligent comment

Jeff,

“Eleanor Rigby” is bad, but “Imagine” is much worse. When I taught economics to homeschoolers, we analysed “Imagine”:

Imagine there’s no heaven = atheism
Imagine all the people living for today = high time preference
Nothing to kill or die for = nihilism
Imagine no possesions = no private property
etc.

We read it in parallel with The Communist Manifesto.
