Lew, an addendum to your post on Pentagon agents on campus. We expect these agents of misforune to be crawling on campuses, looking for fresh fodder. However, something really blew my mind this weekend. I was at the Arnold Classic--the Arnold Schwarzenagger annual bodybuilding event--and the great thing about the Arnold Classic is the fabulous expo on the weekend. In a huge convention center there are hundreds and hundreds of products on disply, from industry manufacturers and distributors--mostly centered around nutrition, clothing, workout gear, and equipment. There was not a single exhibitor there unrelated to fitness/bodybuilding/weight training. Except...
Except that all branches of the military were present, at extravagant booths, complete with sales agents of death who were there to talk young, muscled, macho men into signing away their individual existence in exchange for a pressed uniform and a latrine in the sand. Of course, the Arnold Classic is a perfect place to find overly macho, muscled, testosterone-bursting young men who want to "kick ass." Thus some recruiting strategist, somewhere, is getting some sweet commissions after this weekend.
