Cheney's victim, it turns out, was also shot in the heart, and suffered a heart attack as a result. As creepazoid Britt Hume said on FOX, "it would be deeply embarrassing to the vice president if Mr. Whittington died." (Much later he added that it would be "sad" for the dead man and his family.) The hospital officials, clearly in league with the Republicans, have gone along with the idea that the veep's victim was happy, feeling great, joking, etc. One of them today pooh-poohed "heart attack" as a layman's term; he preferred ischemia. FOX then had a great woman doctor on to comment. Much to the upset of her host, she said ischemia meant part of the heart has died, and that the inflammation meant that this was an extremely dangerous situation. She also believes that there has been a cover up, since he was admitted after the accident with a very irregular heartbeat and a chest wound. What else don't we know? Was Cheney drunk? Was that the reason for the 18-hour stall before meeting with the sheriff?
