There's no one more bloodthirsty than an "evangelical" Lincolnite. A case in point is one Jay Stapleton, a minister from Virginia writing in today's WorldNetDaily. Writing of Lincoln's assassination he says:
"It wasn't the first time a murder served a two-fold purpose. When Christ was nailed to a cross, the wrath of God toward man's sin was appeased, and the hardness of man's heart toward god and one another was softened."
After Lincoln was murdered, northerners supposedly "softened their hearts" toward southerners, according the the Rev., just as man changed his behavior after the death of Christ. Yeah, that's why they pillaged and plundered southerns with "reconstruction" for ten long years after the war.
The main purpose of this article, though, is to support the war in Iraq: "Perhaps the American fist of war hasn't been properly mailed with the humility and repentence Lincoln called for," Stapelton writes. Repent. Repent. Kill, kill, kill.
You see, there's "noxious acrimony in the air," i.e., opposition to the war. We supposedly need to follow Lincoln, quote Scripture, and Kill, Kill, Kill some more.
This guy sounds almost as insane as the Bible-quoting atheist Abraham Lincoln.
