RE: Black Codes and Yankee Racism

Lew, thanks for pointing out that the laws restricting the rights of blacks to keep and bear arms originated in the North. More proof that race relations in many ways were worse in the allegedly "enlightened" North than in the South. (I believe Malcolm X once said he would rather deal with a Southern racist than a Northern liberal because the racist was honest. Malcolm and the Nation of Islam were also among the first to speak out against how the welfare state destroys black families and communities, thus keeping blacks in a state of dependency.)
