Dubya the Dunce

I caugh a bit of Bush at Prayer on CSPAN where, in a D.C. church, everyone was singing the Star Spangled Banner, a song that I sang every morning in elementary school (along with the Battle Hymn of the Republic, having grown up in Pennsylvania). Everyone, that is, but Dubya. He was studiously staring at a song book and apparently mouthing about every tenth word. He put the book down for the last stanza, which he apparently remembered.

But wait a minute. Didn't they sing the Star Spangled Banner at the expensive private school in Connecticut where Dubya went? And isn't he a sports fan, having been and owner of the Texas Rangers? Wasn't it a ballgame he was watching when he almost choked to death on that pretzel? He doesn't know the words to the Star Spangled Banner?!

How can it be that the man who has a plan to eradicate tyranny from the earth is incapable of memorizing the words of a short jingle like that? I'm beginning to suspect that that speech was not written by Dubya at all, but by one of his Straussian/National Greatness Conservative speech writers. Call me paranoid or sarcastic.
