Stephan, I couldn't agree more! All these Republicans whining that Kerry has been absent for important votes -- is this their biggest complaint? I've heard Sean Hannity repeatedly point out that Kerry hasn't authored any major legislation. If true, another point for Kerry!
On the other hand, Democrats observe that Bush spent too much time on vacation and wasn't active enough in the pre-9/11 war on terror. Hah! If only Bush stayed on vacation.
If politicians spent all their time on vacation and the campaign trail, instead of voting and enacting legislation and executive orders, we would have a much freer country. We would still be forced to pay them high salaries to do nothing, making them like the Mafia or any other protection racket. But as it is, we pay them to inflict great damage on the economy, our liberty, and our lives. If Kerry wins, I hope he spends all four years campaigning and never has time to do anything "productive."
