The Case for 9000 Congressmen

I would argue that a larger House (but not Senate) would actually have a dampening effect on government spending. If the House had the same ratio of Representatives to constituents today as in the early Republic there would be over 9000 Congressmen in the House of Representative. Imagine the chaos! Would term limits matter when your Representative lives down the street from you? Please see my paper: Download file
