The Wall Street Journal, voice of what Murray Rothbard dubbed the "neocon Wall Street group," one of the two major Eastern elites that run the political establishment, must be worried about George Bush getting re-elected. In today's online Journal (a subscriber only site), Yale Professor of Humanities Harold Bloom penned an article supporting Wesley Clark for president. Entitled "Cometh the Hour: The American Empire needs a general in the White House," Bloom admits that the U.S. has been an empire since Lincoln wore the purple mantle. While admitting that empires fall, he says he is not sure that the empire is at an end and suggests that Clark is the man to use America's imperial power wisely. It's enough to make you sick!! Clark is nothing but a dangerous social democrat. Will Hillary come to the rescue and will Wes be her "Dick Cheney?" Maybe the Journal thinks it can squeeze Hillary out by promoting Clark.
