Another tax went down in flames as Seattle folk voted down 2-to-1 a new tax on coffee drinks. It was supposed to be a 10 cent a cup tax to pay for "early learning" programs. TRANSLATION: A "Pay us to indoctrinate your children before they can even read" tax. Seattle said no thanks.
