Writes a friend from North Carolina:
"Just back from Geneva and the G8 riots. We were right in the middle about 300 feet away from the major confrontation between the Swiss police and troops with water cannons and rubber bullets, and the rock and bottle throwing mobs. When the riot troops were pushed back, the line between the rioters and the troops ran right through our open air cafe and then we were caught in the middle. Great fun, but had to pay and run when the retreating troops launched teargas. Even aside from the G8, hatred for the US government and Bush were everywhere in Europe, and even in Switzerland. Bush may be the most hated man in Europe since Hitler. "
