It’s called the common cold for a reason.
Everyone gets one and everyone assumes that it’s a mild little problem that’ll pass quickly OR can morph into something more serious – like the flu – if a person’s not careful.
But what is it really?
Is it really an infection?
Or is it simply a detoxing process that without much muss or fuss the body will clean up and we’ll be on our merry way?
Back in the 1940s unique experiments were held. The public was offered “vacations” where they’d be studied with researchers trying to inflict on them the common cold.
Ads were placed:
“Free 10 Day Autumn or Winter Break: You May Not Win A Nobel Prize, But You Could Help Find a Cure for the Common Cold.”
Researchers would go on TV and radio promoting the ammentities offered, even targeting honeymooners looking for a relaxing time.
All that the volunteers had to do in order to partake in this paid vacation was subject themselves to experiments with fluids which may or may not contain a common cold “virus.” The ads worked.”
In this excellent essay Mike Stone of ViroLIEgy.com explores these questions and this history, HERE.
It really is fascinating and will change your thinking forever.
Funny how COLD hard facts can do that. 😉
Highly recommended.
