Mobile users take the test here – National Numeracy Challenge
As research shows a third of over-18s struggle to calculate change in shops and weigh and measure ingredients, the charity National Numeracy has today launched a check-up service to encourage adults to test their maths skills and hopefully improve them in bite-sized steps.
>> Economic recovery ‘threatened by poor maths skills’
The move, backed by the Department for Education, will test adults against a series of questions tailored to different ability ranges. Have a go at some sample questions above.
Entry questions are the level expected for seven to nine-year-olds.
Bronze questions are the level expected for nine to eleven-year-olds.
Silver questions are equivalent to GCSE grades D-G
Gold questions are equivalent to GCSE grades A*-C
